After a bit of a false start last month at Samsung's U.S. Galaxy S II event, T-Mobile has finally and officially announced the release date, plus more details.
First and foremost, it'll be available in stores Oct. 12 for $229.99 -- after $50 rebate and with a two-year contract. You can preorder it online starting Oct. 10.
As for more details, T-Mobile had previously been pretty mum on things -- to the point locking down the phone under glass at Samsung's launch event. But today we learn that it indeed has a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor running Android 2.3.4. The phone has NFC capabilities and can show Netflix, T-Mobile TV and Samsung Media Hub features on that 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. It's also got DLNA and HDMI-out, and runs on T-Mobile's HSPA+ 42Mbps 4G network.
The additional details of the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II piggybacked the announcment of the HTC Amaze 4G. You can find the full press release for both after the break.
